Are the Challenger and Charger going down the same path as the Chrysler 300?

I am wondering if the Challenger and Charger are being mothballed like the Chrysler 300. The Chrysler 300 has not seen any changes, improvements, or new models for at least 3 years. I am seeing the same playbook going on with the 2021 Challenger and Charger. Nothing new on these vehicles this year. And color changes and stripes don't count as something new to me. I see new models, features, and updates coming out on Jeeps and Rams weekly on Mopar Insiders. However, I haven't seen anything on Mopar Insider on either the 2021 Challenger or Charger since December. And the December Mopar Insider article just stated that the 2021 Challengers were arriving at dealers. I read that Tim Kuniskis stated that the next Challenger and Chargers will be electric vehicles and "may" be on the market in 2025. So is Dodge's plan to just let the Challenger and Charger hang out on the market in "as is" condition (just like the Chrysler 300) until 2025 or later?

the has called the new “Golden Age of muscle cars.” He calls electrification “Performance 2.0,” and he predicts it will occur once EV technologies come down in price and become more mainstream.

“The whole world is going to shift to electrification, right? We know this is coming,” he said. “The whole world’s going get there and when it does, the price point of that technology is going to come down and … the crazy people are going to take the electrification that has now become accessible from a price point and make that performance-based instead of economy-based.”

“1972 was the beginning of the end of the Golden Age of muscle cars,” Kuniskis said. “They went away for fuel economy, for the oil crisis. They went away for safety. They went away for insurance, and they went away for increasing emission standards. It’s kind of crazy to think about we’re getting close to a similar list of things right now.”“So is this 1972 right now and we just don’t know it because we’re just drunk on the horsepower? I worry about that every single day because think about how long it took us to get here,” Kuniskis said, citing the decades-long progression of the horsepower of cars to what Dodge and other manufacturers offer today.“I’m super excited about the future of electric because I think it’s what’s going to allow us to not fall off the cliff.,” he said. “Without that technology, without electrification. This is 1972 right now, this thing is going to end.”“We have all these different brands, which allows us to be very focused on what the positioning of that brand is,” he said. “I don’t have to be kind of generic ... All I do is American muscle so my marketing and everything that I do can be very focused on exactly that.”
Dodge CEO says EVs can save America's new 'Golden Age of muscle cars' (cnbc.com)
''Tim Kuniskis stated that the next Challenger and Chargers will be electric vehicles'' isn't what he said.

Today, right now is the Golden Years of muscle cars and has been since 2015 ! Are the EV's ready for prime time for other than commercial use ? Currently the EV's have appox. 3% of sales in the US. Considering the agenda of the current DC party in power this over zealous push to eliminate the ICE could soon back fire ? Strangling oil and gasoline supplies could very well push our economy into a downward spiral ? What do you think ?

With Chrysler or what ever name has the worst CAFE ratings and all it's egg's in one basket with no plan B ?

Sergio M introduced a doctrine of research and develop leading edge drivetrain technology, but only market that which FCA can make money on. FCA had to build the compliance Fiat 500e and lost money on everyone built. That's why Mr. Marchionne quipped don't buy one to the press.

High performance vehicles developed by the SRT team make money and in the process attract engineering talent to the company. Such projects even allow skills development for the new hires. The profits and lessons learned from SRT result in products like the Wrangler PHEV.

Rumor is that GM is dropping the Camaro leaving the Mustang as the only performance car convert. Down here in South FL the rental car fleets are full of red Mustang and Camero converts. Well that was before the CV-19 caused drop in air travel. So yes the Camaro exit will leave a big opening in fleet converts rentals.

Camaro is probably the best candidate out of those three to be a BEV. It needs far better interior room and visibility and sales numbers are so low that it won't pose as much risk.
