Oh, it's still there but they have simplified the line up. I.e. they are back to where they'd been at the start of US sales. As we know back then internally there were just 2 different trim levels.

You even get two steering wheels with the Lusso package! :D

The Nero Edizione is quite expensive for what it is.

I've driven Alfas for nearly 20 years now.. Most people will eventually ask "have you had any problems?" in some way or other. I'm happy to answer, especially as most people are polite, but occasionally you get the odd moron who just assumes your car is junk because some crap they read twenty years ago, and/or because it suits their mildly racist world-view (Germans = hard workers, Italians = lazy, etc, etc.).

Before my first Alfa, I owned a Mercedes. In 40 months and just 24,000 miles it managed to clock up more repair visits than my three Alfas have in the twenty years since. I don't go around insulting people who drive Mercedes to their face, despite my direct experiences with the brand. Partly because I'm not an a'hole, but also because I figure they're suffering enough as it is...

@KrisW

During the years I've seen in a life how Central Europeans and also Nordic tends to be very racist oriented towards Italians. For example in Czechia for all bad things happening they out blame on Italians. That's disgusting.

When it comes to cars I've seen that people are forgiving to German car brands. For example VW. One guy had a Golf TDI. I can't remember was it a 5th or 6th generation. Basically they are the same car. He had AC compressor failure and dual mass flywheel failure fairly soon. Actually for those who are following car industry carefully, PQ35 based cars were known for very frequent failures for both of this parts. Average lifespan is 120k km, give it or take it few thousands km. Total cost is 1000+ euros which is IMO a lot. That cost is for spare parts only.

But this guy had rewarded VW with yet another purchase. This time POS called Up. Result was catastrophic. Distorted discs in less than 20k km. And yet again he was full of praise for VW although service department was not top notch. Go figure.

When you have a fault with your German car: "Oh, you're so unlucky"
When you have a fault with your Italian car: "Well, what did you expect?"

I remember some idiot explaining to me that I should have bought the Audi model he drove instead of my 147, because in his view, Alfa's were really unreliable. I shrugged it off and changed the subject (I knew a lot more about cars than him, and I don't enjoy arguments). Then, less than five minutes later in the same conversation, he starts talking about how he'll be leaving early that day because he's collecting his two-year-old Audi that had to be fitted with a new ignition system to the tune of about six hundred Euro, and it wasn't covered on the warranty. We soon discovered that this wasn't the only fault, and he'd had a turbo problem fixed at a previous service, and some other issue that had kept the car off the road for two days. He would not believe me when I said I had never needed to take my car to the garage except to have the annual service, and that I'd never needed anything done except scheduled maintenance at those services.

The situation you talk about in CZ is more to do with a populist leadership looking for someone to blame (Rule 1. It's always a foreigner's fault) than any long-standing racism against Italians. I'll start and end my commentary by saying that Babiš is dragging the country down into the dirt, and by diverting EU funding into his own businesses, he's getting the Czech people to pay him for the privilege, and the sooner he's charged with fraud, the better.
