I like the bright colors and the heritage graphics. I wish there was a way to get the look without the winch, skid plates, and lower gearing. It's the same thing with the Rebel, I don't need the locking differential or skid plates, but I love the look. If I get a truck it will be for winter weather duty not running off-road.

I like the Power Wagon's wheel well trim and stripes. I don't expect lower line trims to have exactly the same look, but I like the black contrast on the bottom of the doors and fenders. Ram pickups have probably the best color palette in the auto business. Hydro Blue is evidence of this, and all this is a far cry from Daimler days.

My other frustration is that the only way to get a lower GVW on the Ram 2500 is with either the Power Wagon or the Power Wagon package. In some places one pays extra in registration fees for a higher GVW. Plus some of our local highways where I live are restricted to 9,000 lbs. GVW. Please bear in mind my GVW information is off the Ram website, which can be notoriously misleading at times.

If I needed a V8 pickup, I would probably go with a 2500 over the 1500. I have driven both at work. If my need for a V8 truck doesn't happen, I might go with a Pentastar powered 1500. We have some V6 powered Rebels in our fleet. A V6 ram would be a good fit for my current driving environment. We had some V6 powered Ram Classics, but they were recently replaced with 2020 Warlocks with Hemis as well as some DS low level trimmed crew cabs with the Hemi. The last items were ordered in white with the 6'4" bed.

My fantasy Ram would have the Macho trim package colors and graphics from the 1981 MY. They could offer it on something that doesn't have skid plates, lockers, and low gearing. I don't know how well that appearance would translate to the present sheet metal, the 1981 models were very straight edged.

(Please note, I don't expect Ram trucks to revolve around my personal whims.)
