Cleetus McFarland’s YouTube channel recently introduced its latest giveaway truck, a custom-built Ram 1500 TRX Regular Cab. Known for their creative automotive projects, the McFarland team decided to create a unique version of the TRX since Ram doesn’t produce a Regular Cab model of the fifth generation. However, after the initial reveal, the team received mixed feedback from viewers, prompting them to make some adjustments and additions to the giveaway.
Following the truck’s reveal, some viewers expressed concerns about the design, specifically the rear pillar of the build. McFarland responded to this feedback by applying a simple blacked-out decal to address the aesthetic issue. Additionally, some fans were disappointed that the team modified the original four-door TRX, suggesting they should have kept it in its OEM configuration.
Cleetus purchased a matching 2021 Ram 1500 TRX Crew Cab to satisfy both camps. This means the giveaway winner now has the option to choose between the custom two-door Regular Cab and the standard four-door Crew Cab.
Initially, the plan was to add bolt-on modifications to both trucks. However, in a recent video, the McFarland team decided to go a step further with the Regular Cab model. Partnering with America’s Most Wanted 4×4 (AMW4x4) in Holly, Michigan, they equipped the truck with the same supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI engine found in the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170. This powerful engine upgrade allows the truck to produce 1,025 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 945 lb-ft of torque at 4,200 rpm when running on an E85 ethanol blend (900 horsepower and 810 lb-ft of torque on E10).
Cleetus McFarland fans can win either the custom Regular Cab TRX or the original Crew Cab TRX, along with $20,000 in cash. Every $5 spent on the Cleetus McFarland website earns one entry into the giveaway. The promotion runs until August 16, 2024, at 11:59 PM ET.
