Chrysler Announces The Return Of The Chrysler Voyager:
Meet Chrysler's New Value-Based Minivan...
Since its debut in late 2016 as a 2017 model, the Chrysler Pacifica minivan has won award after award yet has struggled to gain traction to surpass its aging sibling, the Dodge Grand Caravan. While the Pacifica may have the looks, more technology features, and better quality of materials, the Grand Caravan’s value keeps the 12-year-old minivan continues to lead the segment in volume. Now, the Chrysler brand is launching a new variant of the Chrysler Pacifica to add another value based minivan to its lineup. Enter the 2020 Chrysler Voyager.
The Chrysler Voyager nameplate returns. Originally associated with the Plymouth brand, the Chrysler Voyager nameplate was used on export models that started back in the late 1980s till the mid-2010s, as well as used on the entry-level Chrysler minivan during the early 2000s.
Voyager will be aimed at budget-friendly family and fleet customers. The Chrysler Voyager replaces the Pacifica L and LX models to now offer three value-add models L, LX, and LXi. Voyager offers seven-passenger seating, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone compatibility, 3.5-inch digital information display, 7-inch touchscreen Uconnect 4 infotainment system, six-speaker sound system, and noise active cancellation.
The Chrysler Voyager LXi will be a fleet-only model, that offers durable, UltraTec leatherette seats for fleet rental customers, as well as second-row Stow ‘n Go, remote start, security alarm, black Stow ‘n Place roof rack, universal garage door opener, second-row retractable sunshades, and auto-dim rearview mirror.
The Voyager comes standard with the next generation 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 gasoline engine, which delivers 287 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft. of torque. The Pentastar is mated to a segment-exclusive TorqueFlite nine-speed automatic transmission.
The Voyager will have a few available options. The available SafetyTec Group will include ParkSense Rear Park Assist with Stop, Blind-Spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross Path Detection. Other optional features include Cold Weather Group Package, Stow ‘n Place Roof Rack System, and single overhead DVD entertainment system on the Voyager LX trim-level.
