Peugeot Brazil Adds The Updated 2022 Peugeot 3008 To Its Lineup!

The Peugeot brand has unveiled its new 3008 SUV for the Brazilian market, yesterday. The updated showcases the new global look for the 3008, which was shown off last year in Europe. It combines a redesigned front, full LED taillights, new exciting exterior colors, and a new exclusive option for the GT Pack model dubbed the “Black Pack” adding black accents.

Endowed with intelligent technologies, the new Peugeot 3008 offers state-of-the-art driving aids, with the new Peugeot i-Cockpit® 2.0 high-definition (HD) instrument panel (I/P) and new 10-inch touchscreen infotainment screen on the GT Pack model and an 8-inch version on Griffe models.

With a new front styling based on the new Peugeot design language, featuring a frameless grille design that fins under the headlights. To help enhance the vehicle’s sportiness, Peugeot has added Gloss Black side openings and lower protection sills now integrate into the bumper. The headlights were also redesigned to accentuate aggressiveness. They feature LED technology in both trim levels, with a DRL extension in the form of a set, and a chrome edge. This luminous signature is perfectly in line with current Peugeot styling and is instantly recognizable.

In the GT Pack trim level, the Full LED headlamps promote a high-tech and differentiated footprint, thanks to the extension of the luminous signature and the cornering lighting function (EVS) that optimizes visibility up to 56 mph (90 km/h). The fog lights have been replaced by the “Foggy Mode” function built into the Full LED headlights, which turns on the low beam headlights with reduced intensity when the rear fog lights are activated.

At the rear, the new taillights adopt full LED technology, displaying Peugeot’s signature 3D claws that make the luminous signature more incisive. The direction arrows are sequential type, while the taillamps are surrounded with a black piano finish, which extends the entire width of the trunk lid on both sides of the vehicle, visually increasing the width of the rear. Furthermore, the GT badges (on the front fenders and on the trunk lid) have been updated.

For the Brazilian market, there is six available exterior colors. For Griffe models there is White Nacré, Gray Artanse, Platinum Gray, and Black Perla Nera. On GT Pack models there are two bold colors of Ultimate Red and Blue Vertigo.

The 3008’s interior has become more modern and sophisticated thanks to the new i-Cockpit® 2.0. Customers can now configure and customize the new 12.3-inch digital cluster. The new 10-inch touchscreen on GT Pack models is accompanied by seven elegant “toggle switches” that allow direct and permanent access to the main comfort functions such as radio, air conditioning, navigation with remote control voice, vehicle settings, and mobile apps.

There is a factory-equipped driving mode selector that lets you choose between Normal, Sport, and ECO modes.

Highlighting the modernization of the i-Cockpit, new upholstery and finishes mark the upgrade of the range, contributing to the perception of quality and the attractiveness of the cabin. There is a new Alcantara® Black Mistral leather upholstery in GT Pack, a new black leather upholstery with Tramontane topstitching in the Griffe version, and a new framless interior mirror that is standard on GT Pack models.

The new Peugeot 3008 includes the Peugeot Driver Assist Plus system adds Adaptive and intelligent Stop & Go autopilot, which adds automatic vehicle re-acceleration in case of stops shorter than 3 seconds. Otherwise, the function can be reactivated by simply touching the accelerator pedal or the control end under the steering wheel. This function is available in the Driver Assist Plus Pack.

There is also an Active Safety Brake (Automatic Emergency Braking) that fuctions from 3 to 87 mph (5 to 140 km/h) detecting cars and pedestrians, with a collision alert. There is also traffic sign recognition, with new speed signals to recongize Stop, Wrong Way, Prohibited Overtaking, and other signs).

There is also a number of driving assistance and comfort options available, including botuh Visiopark 1 (180° rear camera), Visiopark 2 (360° front and rear cameras), Park Assist with parallel or transversal parking, Drive Attention Alert to to monitor the driver’s vigilance over long distances and at speeds above 40 mph (65 km/h), Automatic headlights, Active Blind-Spot Montioring, Panoramic Sunroof, and multipoint messaging seats in GT Pack models, and Electronic Parking Brake.

There is an available premium 515-watt HiFi sound system from the French high-fidelity audio brand, FOCAL®.

Under the hood of the Brazilian-spec Peugeot 3008 is the award-winning turbocharged 1.6-liter THP inline-four-cylinder engine. The engine produces 165 horsepower and 177 lb.-ft. of torque. Peak torque comes just at 1,400 rpm. The 3008 is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission as standard equipment. The 6-speed offer a “manual” mode, allowing gear changes to be made by the driver through a set of paddle shifters.

It is also worth noting that the Peugeot 3008 will also provide access to the Cart shopping platform, which Stellantis will soon debut at the beginning of next quarter. Through an application compatible with the car’s multimedia center and a secure and integrated payment solution, it will be possible to enjoy products and services from various brands, without leaving your vehicle.

One of the examples of Cart’s partnership is with ConectCar, through which users will have a more interactive experience when passing through toll booths and parking lots. 

Although the Peugeot 3008 is not available in the North American market, it continues to play an important role in the compact segment in the Stellantis portfolio.
