Carlisle Chrysler Nationals Celebrates 20 Years Of The Ram SRT-10

The Chrysler Nationals is the largest Mopar event in the world featuring over 2,800+ vehicles from all eras of the Mopar brands. It doesn’t matter if it is a Maxwell, Chrysler, Desoto, Imperial, Plymouth, Dodge, Jeep®, AMC, or Ram if it relates to the Chrysler Corporation, it will be there.

Taking place from July 12-14, 2024, promises to be an exhilarating experience for automotive enthusiasts and Mopar fans alike. For the 2024 event, the nationals will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the beloved Dodge Ram SRT-10. For a three-year run of 2004 to 2006, Dodge created the ultimate sport truck by stuffing the Viper SRT-10’s 8.4-liter (505 cubic-inch) VIPER V-10. This meant that you could have 500 horsepower and 525 lb.-ft. of torque in a full-size truck, over a decade before the debut of the HELLCAT.

Regular Cab models came standard with a 6-speed Tremec T-56 manual transmission, while the four-door Quad Cab was only available with a four-speed 48RE automatic transmission from the Ram Heavy Duty. Both trucks used a Dana 60 rear axle, to put power to the ground. 

The 5,130-pound Regular Cab could reach a top speed of 154 mph (248 km/h), accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds, and complete the quarter-mile in 13.6 seconds at 106 mph. For the larger 5,618-pound Quad Cab, it also was fast. It produced a 147 mph (237 km/h) top speed, a 0 to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds and run the quarter mile in 13.7 seconds at 100 mph.
