First And Last-Year Dodge SRT Demons With Matching VINs On Auction...

A rare pair of matching Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Dodge Challenger SRT Demons are currently up for auction on BringATrailer.com, offering a unique opportunity for collectors. Both a 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and a 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, each numbered 1,636 of approximately 3,300 examples produced, are being sold with no reserve by a dealer in Florida. These two vehicles not only share a lineage but also have VINs that nearly match, with the only difference being two digits that denote their respective model years.

The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is a muscle car that made waves upon its release, and this particular example remains a well-preserved icon with just 450 miles on the odometer. Acquired by its second owner in June 2018, this Demon is finished in a sinister Pitch Black (PX8) paint scheme, featuring a Satin Black hood, roof, and trunk-lid graphics. The car’s bold styling is enhanced by widebody fender flares, an Air Grabber hood, and a rear spoiler, while yellow scuff guards remain on the front lip, emphasizing the car’s well-maintained condition.

Under the hood, the 2018 SRT Demon is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® Demon V8 engine with a 2.7-liter IHI twin-screw supercharger. This powerhouse was rated at 808 horsepower and 717 lb-ft of torque on premium fuel, but it could push up to 840 horsepower and 770 lb-ft of torque when using 100-octane fuel and the race-tuned ECU from the included Demon Crate. This crate also contains front-runner wheels, a cordless impact wrench, a tire pressure gauge, a hydraulic floor jack, and more, providing everything needed to transform the car into a track monster.

The 2018 SRT Demon’s interior combines performance with comfort, offering heated and ventilated bucket seats trimmed in black Laguna leather and perforated Alcantara inserts. The driver is greeted by an Alcantara-wrapped heated steering wheel, paddle shifters, and a 200-mph speedometer. A 7-inch digital display allows the driver to keep an eye on the car’s performance metrics, while Harman Kardon™ audio and Uconnect infotainment add a modern touch to this muscle car icon.

With Brembo four-piston brake calipers, Adaptive Damping Suspension (ADS), electronic stability- and traction-control systems, and a performance-tuned asymmetric limited-slip differential, this Demon was built to dominate both the drag strip and the streets.

2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170: The Last Call for Power –

Fast forward to 2023, and Dodge’s final evolution of the Demon—the SRT Demon 170—takes the legacy even further. This particular car, like its 2018 sibling, is finished in Pitch Black with Satin Black hood, roof, and trunk-lid graphics, maintaining a consistent aesthetic between the two. However, with only 27 miles on the odometer, the 2023 Demon 170 is essentially brand new and represents the pinnacle of Dodge’s muscle car performance.

The heart of the Demon 170 is its supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI C170 V8 engine, which features a massive 3.0-liter twin-screw supercharger. This engine is capable of adjusting its output based on the ethanol content in the fuel, producing 900 horsepower and 810 lb-ft of torque on conventional E10 fuel and an astonishing 1,025 horsepower and 945 lb-ft of torque when running E85. It’s a technical marvel that highlights Dodge’s commitment to squeezing every bit of performance from its internal combustion engines in the face of an increasingly electrified future. The SRT Power Chiller, which redirects air conditioning refrigerant to cool the intercooler, helps keep temperatures in check during high-performance runs.

The cabin of the Demon 170 mirrors that of its 2018 counterpart but comes with a few distinct touches. Heated and ventilated bucket seats upholstered in black Laguna leather with Alcantara inserts provide comfort, while a carbon-fiber-trimmed dashboard and center console offer a modern, high-performance feel. This model was optioned without rear seats, and protective plastic covers remain on the driver’s seat and console-mounted shifter, preserving its fresh-off-the-assembly-line condition.

Like the 2018 model, the Demon 170 also boasts Brembo® four-piston brake calipers, ADS, and a host of electronic driving aids, making it a well-rounded performance car. The staggered-diameter forged alloy wheels come wrapped in Mickey Thompson ET Street tires, with 245/55-18-inch tires up front and 315/50-17-inch tires at the rear.

One unique touch that accompanies the sale of the Demon 170 is a custom decanter set, with the car’s VIN engraved on both the presentation box and the decanter. The set includes two glasses, four leather coasters, and beverage-chilling cubes, making it a distinctive collector’s item.

A Rare Opportunity –

Both of these matching-VIN Demons represent significant milestones in Dodge’s performance legacy. The 2018 model marked a turning point for muscle cars with its incredible drag-racing capability, while the 2023 Demon 170 is Dodge’s “Last Call” for its high-horsepower HEMI® V8s. With both cars offered at no reserve and with clean titles, they provide a unique opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Bidding for these exceptional muscle cars ends on Tuesday, October 8, at 4:15 p.m. EDT on BringATrailer.com.
