AUCTION: Dom’s 1969 Dodge Charger R/T From Furious 7!

Fast & Furious Stunt Car Goes Across The Auction Block...

Over the past two decades,The Fast and the Furious” franchise has morphed from a street racing cult classic to a series of heist movies. The result has been a multi-billion dollar success story for Universal Pictures. During those 20+ years, the series has showcased some of the most iconic cars in automotive history. However, at the center of almost every movie in the series, has been a second-generation Dodge Charger B-Body.

Vin Diesel’s character Dominic “Dom” Toretto, has become synonymous with the second-generation Dodge Charger. In the seventh installment (Furious 7), Dom is seen behind the wheel of two different Chargers. One an off-road version of a 1970 Dodge Charger was involved in the biggest action sequence in the movie. The second was a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T made to look like 1970, which was used at the end of the movie and based more on the iconic one used in the first installment (The Fast and the Furious).

One of those 1969 Dodge Chargers used to create the scene above, is now going to auction at the Mecum Orlando event scheduled for next month.

According to the posting, the car was used in the Furious 7 film. Like most movie stunt vehicles, the car has been built for flexibility and ease of maintenance. Under the hood lies a General Motors 5.7-liter (350 cubic-inch) LS1 V8 engine. It has been mated to a Turbo 400 automatic transmission, adding even more reliability to the setup. For looks, a mock-up BDS blower has been placed on top of the engine.

Listed as LOT# F211, the car will cross the Mecum Orlando auction block on Friday, July 8th. The car should be a great piece for any movie car or Mopar collector’s collection.

Below, you can see a video of the Furious 7 Chargers from the AFICIONAUTO. In the video, movie car builder Dennis McCarthy talks about both Chargers for the movie.

We are curious to see just how much this movie stunt car will go for once it crosses the auction block.
