With all of the special edition Dodge Viper models built over the car’s 25-year lifespan, the Snakeskin Edition continues to be one of our favorites. This 2017 Dodge Viper GTC ACR is one of only 31 examples built in the Viper’s final production year.
The GTC ACR Snakeskin Edition models included a custom snakeskin-patterned SRT stripe, ACR Package, Extreme Aero Package, carbon ceramic brakes, ACR interior, serialized instrument panel Snakeskin badge, a custom car cover that matches the exterior paint scheme and showcases the customer name above the driver’s side door.
Designed to provide maximum downforce, the Extreme Aero Package consisted of a revised hood with detachable louvers, a front splitter with a detachable extension, four dive planes, an adjustable dual-element rear wing, and a carbon-fiber rear diffuser. The Extreme Aero Package allowed the Viper ACR to provide 1,101 lbs. of downforce at 150 mph and 1,533 lbs. of downforce at 177 mph, the car’s top speed.
The car sits on staggered-width Finspeed forged wheels mounted with 295/30 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires up front and Toyo Proxes RR tires out back. Beadlocks are fitted to the rear wheels. Stopping power is handled by Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes with red calipers, and the car features a 10-way manually-adjustable suspension.
Underneath its huge hood, sits an 8.4-liter (505 cubic inch) VIPER V-10 that was modified by Calvo Motorsports and fitted with the following components:
- (2) 67mm turbochargers
- Air-to-air intercooler system
- Machined crankshaft
- Upgraded bearings
- Turbosmart billet wastegates and blow-off valves
- CM billet fuel pump hangar
- Triple high-flow fuel pumps
- Fuel Lab fuel filters
- ID 1300 fuel injectors
- Fore Innovations billet fuel pressure regulator
- Motec M1 ECU
- Stainless steel upper coolant pipe
- Custom ceramic-coated exhaust manifolds
- Billet engine mounts
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a PPG six-speed sequential gearbox and a speed-sensing limited-slip differential with a finned cooler. A custom exhaust system and an Nth Moto triple-disc carbon clutch have been added.
Inside, the Viper features six-way adjustable Sabelt sport seats upholstered in Black leather with Alcantara inserts and embossed Viper lettering. Additional equipment includes a Snakeskin Edition badge mounted on the dash identifying this car as No. 18 of the 31 built, Gold trim, automatic climate control, a PPG billet shifter, an LED gear selector display, a Keyless Enter-N-Go passive entry system, a rearview camera, and an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen display with navigation. The passenger window assembly is said to have been replaced in 2022.
There is also an Alcantara-wrapped multifunction steering wheel that features a Silver centering stripe and frames a 220-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,250-rpm redline, an electronic vehicle information center (EVIC), and auxiliary gauges. According to the listening, the fuel gauge was repaired under current ownership.
If this car sounds familiar to you, it’s because we featured it in an earlier article. You might remember when YouTube personality Streetspeed717 owned this exact car and jumped it with a Ram 1500 TRX. Yes, the current seller purchased the car from him earlier this year.
With not quite 6,000 miles on the odometer, the car is being offered in Texas with a clean Pennsylvania title. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Texas, Oregon, Arizona, and Pennsylvania. The car is said to have been inspected by Calvo Motorsports earlier this year.
Listed on BringATrailer.com, the car is currently up for grabs until Thursday, October 6th. As of the posting of this article, the car has already reached bidding just shy of $300,000, showing Vipers continue to have high reselling numbers.
Be sure to check out the listing for a lot more photos.
