Barris Kustom Industries, the shop owned by the late famed automotive customizer George Barris, has built some amazing rides over the years. The shop has built some of the most famous vehicles in television and movie history including the 1966 Batmobile, the Munster’s Koach and Dragula, the Beverly Hillbillies 1921 Olds, KITT from Knight Rider, and many more.
But would you believe that this 2005 Dodge Magnum was built by the same team? Well, it was.
This Magnum was finished in a Silver over Yellow paint scheme, demarcated by Black pinstripes, and features dark tinted windows with matching trip and mirror caps. The exterior also includes other modifications such as a power-operated panoramic Webasto canvas sunroof, front and rear vertically opening scissor-style doors, silver-finished slot-style taillights, a polished round exhaust outlet, and chrome-plated custom V-shaped slotted upper and lower grilles. The upper grille and fenders are adorned with the Barris crest.
The car sits on chrome 22-inch (front) and 24-inch (rear) five-spoke wheels that are engraved with Yellow International Custom Car Enterprises (ICCE) and Barris logos and mounted with 245/30 front and 275/25 rear Pirelli P Zero Nero tires. To help with that custom look, the Magnum has been fitted with a four-way Air Ride Technologies Ridetech suspension system.
Inside, the interior features seats upholstered in Black microsuede with Yellow inserts along with matching door panel inserts embroidered with the George Barris signature. Factory equipment includes an Autostick shifter, an AM/FM CD stereo, and air conditioning as well as power windows, mirrors, and door locks. The steering wheel is missing covers on the upper spokes, for some reason.
Under the hood, is a 3.5-liter SOHC V6 equipped with a Full Throttle MaxxCool air intake system, and power is sent to the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission. The 3.5-liter delivers 250 horsepower and 250 lb.-ft. of torque.
Dubbed the “Barris Kustom Wagon” has about 26,000 original miles and is offered with a signed certificate of authenticity, manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Missouri title. The car will also come with memorabilia including the car’s appearance at the 2009 Cinecars TV pilot, as well as a photoshoot with Taboo of the pop band the “Black Eyed Peas”.
