Initially designed for NASCAR competition, the 1970 Plymouth Superbird was based on the mid-size Road Runner model and needed approximately 2,000 units for homologation. This specific Superbird was refurbished in 2020, giving it a new lease on life. After its restoration, the car was stored in a warehouse until it was acquired by the current selling dealer in 2024. It now comes with a clean title from Arkansas, ensuring that it is ready for its next owner.

Powertrain and Performance –

Under the hood, this Superbird is powered by the formidable 7.2-liter (440 cubic-inch) Super Commando V8 engine. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a 3-speed 727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission with a Sure-Grip limited-slip differential. According to the seller, the engine and transmission were rebuilt during refurbishment, ensuring optimal performance.

The car features a fender tag that decodes essential information about its specifications, including a 3.55:1 final drive ratio and a 26-inch radiator. The current five-digit odometer shows 82,000 miles, with fewer than 10 miles added by the selling dealer.
