Antonio Filosa Ramps Up for CEO Role with Michigan Plant Visits

Incoming Stellantis CEO Connects with U.S. Workers Ahead of June 23 Leadership Shift

As Stellantis prepares for a major leadership change, Chief Operating Officer for the Americas, Antonio Filosa, has been hitting the ground running—literally. With just days to go before stepping into his new role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on Monday, June 23, Filosa continued his whirlwind North American listening tour this past week, making key stops at two of Stellantis’ most critical manufacturing plants in Michigan.

Stellantis COO of the Americas, Antonio Filosa, meets with employees at the Detroit Assembly Complex – Jefferson facility. (Stellantis).

Filosa visited the Detroit Assembly Complex – Jefferson on June 12, where the Jeep® Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango are built. The massive facility spans 3 million square feet and sits on 283 acres in the heart of the Motor City. While there, Filosa—accompanied by members of his regional leadership team—met with United Auto Workers (UAW) members, joined operational review sessions, and spent time on the plant floor speaking directly with employees.

The next day, June 13, he headed north to Sterling Heights to tour the Sterling Stamping Plant, one of the largest stamping plants in the world. That facility produces body panels and assemblies for a wide range of vehicles, including the Dodge Durango, Chrysler Pacifica, Ram 1500, and Jeep Grand Cherokee. Filosa met with UAW members, gaining a firsthand look at how the parts that shape Stellantis vehicles are manufactured.

These Michigan visits weren’t just about photo ops—they’re part of a larger effort by Filosa to better understand the real-world operations and day-to-day challenges of Stellantis employees. Earlier this month, he kicked off this tour in Windsor, Ontario, where he led Chrysler’s 100th anniversary celebration at the Windsor Assembly Plant.

Filosa’s U.S. stops follow a similar tour he conducted throughout Europe, aimed at preparing him for the top job. His leadership style is shaping up to be personal, transparent, and action-oriented—traits that seem to resonate well on the factory floor.
