Another Dark Themed Package Is Coming For The 2022 Jeep® Grand Cherokee L!

Limited Models Will Get New "Limited Black" Model...

The new three-row Jeep® Grand Cherokee L (WL75) has been proven to be an instant success for the American adventure brand. Offering Grand Cherokee owners the ability to carry 6 or 7 passengers is a game-changer for the nameplate and has now opened up the Grand Cherokee to many people who wouldn’t have considered the vehicle before.

As the three-row offering enters the 2022 model year, it has now been met by a new two-row offering (WL74). The two-row looks a bit different with a more sloped rear pillar and a more angular front end treatment on various models. One of the big concerns was that the two-row model featured a 10.25-inch passenger infotainment screen, something that has not been available on the “L”. But just the other day, MoparInsiders.com broke the news that the passenger screen would be offered on the 2022 “L” models. Our keen-eyed dealer friends informed us that Jeep announced the decision to select dealers for pre-ordering 2022 model year vehicles.

It does appear that Jeep is now listening to its customer base about the options it would like to see on the Grand Cherokee L for 2022.

Two years ago, we posted an article that the current Grand Cherokee (WK2) contributed a huge amount of its success to the amount of dark-themed packages that were available for the various trims in the lineup. According to Jeep®, the “dark appearance packages” account for 40% of the brand’s sales on the Grand Cherokee in 2019.

As the Grand Cherokee L launched in June, only one dark appearance appeared in the lineup. The Grand Cherokee L Altitude is based on the entry-level Laredo and adds Gloss Black appearance details like 20-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels, Gloss Black exterior accents and badging, roof rails, and a unique seven-slot grille. Altitude also added a number of convenience features like remote start, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, wireless charging pad, adjustable height liftgate, rain-sensing wipers, a 115-volt power outlet, and third-row USB ports.

But that wasn’t enough for some Grand Cherokee buyers. Some customers wanted more luxurious options.

So starting this month, Jeep dealers are now available to order the Grand Cherokee L Limited with a “Limited Black Package” (ALC). The package adds the same Gloss Black accents from the Altitude to the Limited models, so that the vehicle will feature premium features like LED fog lamps, Capri leather seats, 8-way power driver seat with memory, 4-way driver/front-passenger lumbar adjuster with memory, and Selec-Terrain traction management system, which offers five available terrain modes (Auto, Sport, Rock, Snow, Mud/Sand) on 4×4 models.
