As we have already reported, the Alfa Romeo brand is working on introducing a new higher-performance variant of its Giulia sedan to kick off the celebration of the brand’s 110th birthday. The new high-performance Giulia is rumored to carry the GTA nameplate when its makes its official debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show on March 3rd.
The Giulia GTA will be lightened and more powerful than the already potent Giulia Quadrifoglio. On the exterior of the GTA, will be a lot more carbon bits to reduce weight and add more of a sporty appearance to the car. The rear track will be widened and rear wheels will potrude in comparison to the regular lineup of current Giulia models. In addition to all of this, there will also be a lot of added aero parts that will be produce a lot more downforce to the already capable four-door sedan, while a set of new lightweight wheels will also be fitted to the new GTA.
The Giulia GTA should be a track monster and we will not be surprised if Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) options to enter the car in the FIA GT class competition, thanks to a new rule change that is rumored to be in the works. This new rule should let manufacturers to enter four-door sedans into competition.
The Giulia GTA isn’t the only sedan that Alfa Romeo is expected to roll out at the show. The 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio has yet to make its official EMEA debut. We are expecting a slight power bump, a new AkrapoviÄ exhaust, as well as the introduction of a new Montreal Green/Verde color to be some of the highlights of the new Quadrifoglio.
MoparInsiders still isn’t sure if the upcoming Giulia GTA will make it to North America. However, the new car should be available in the EMEA market sometime this summer.
