Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm Wins Readers Election Of AUTO BILD SPORTSCARS!
Limited-Edition Italian High Performance Sedan Impresses Germany Voters...
With its unmistakable Italian design, combined with 540 horsepower engine power, convinced the readers of AUTO BILD SPORTSCARS. The leading German automotive publication has announced the 2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm – the most powerful car ever produced with the Italian by Alfa Romeo as the “2021 AUTO BILD SPORTSCAR of the Year”.
A total of 109 different sports car models were put to the reader’s vote, and the Giulia GTAm won the import rankings in the “Sedans & Wagons” category.
Following the footsteps of last year’s winner – the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, AUTO BILD SPORTSCARS continues to show the popularity of the Italian marque in Germany with this year’s win by the Giulia GTAm. A major achievement and a source of great pride for the Alfa Romeo brand.
Produced with just 500 serialized units, the Giulia GTA’s well-known acronym stands for “Gran Turismo Alleggerita” (‘lightened grand tourer’), paying tribute to one of the most legendary cars in the brand’s glorious history – the 1965 Giulia Sprint GTA.
With the widespread use of ultralight materials, the Giulia GTA’s weight is reduced by up to 100 kg (220 lbs.) compared to the Giulia Quadrifoglio and is equipped with an upgraded version of the 540 horsepower 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine with a best-in-class specific output of 187 horsepower/liter. It also delivers extraordinary performance, in terms of both lap times on the track and its acceleration. The aerodynamics have been specially produced, drawing on the technical expertise derived straight from Formula 1, courtesy of the synergy with Sauber Engineering.
