Alfa Romeo CEO, Shows First Look At New 33 Stradale

Ultra-Rare Premium Super SportsCar Will Have Both ICE and Electric Powertrains...

Last August, Alfa Romeo debuted its new ultra-rare super sportscar – the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. The 33 Stradale pays homage to the historic 1967 model while boldly embracing the future of style and driving experience. With a mere 33 exclusive units, each a testament to the brand’s artistry and dedication, the 33 Stradale bridges the gap between Alfa Romeo’s storied heritage and its aspirations for innovation in Italian sportsmanship.

True to Alfa Romeo’s legacy, the 33 Stradale offers an extraordinary driving experience. The development team aimed to deliver track-worthy performance in a road-worthy package without compromising comfort and safety. F1 driver Valtteri Bottas contributed to the car’s tuning, melding F1 expertise with everyday usability.

Despite its hefty price tag of €1.7 million (or about $1.85 million), the Stradale sold out. But for those customers who could afford this ultra-limited super sportscar, they will have a choice of either an internal combustion (ICE) or a battery-electric (BEV) powertrain.

For those choosing ICE, a Maserati-sourced twin-turbo 3.0-liter “Nettuno” V6 engine will deliver over 620 horsepower, harnessed through an eight-speed DCT gearbox and an electronic limited-slip differential for dynamic rear-wheel-drive performance. For those inclined towards an electric future, a BEV configuration yields over 750 horsepower, coupled with an estimated range of 280 miles (450 km) according to WLTP standards. Performance numbers are staggering, with a top speed of 206 mph and a 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) sprint in under three seconds.

Alfa Romeo CEO, Jean Philippe Imparato, posted on his personal Twitter (X) profile the first clip where we can see this new ultra-rare super sportscar in motion. Shown in its BEV configuration, Imparato left the caption of “At work, on the mock-up. Sound to come!

Production is scheduled to start this June, with the first delivery of the 33 Stradale scheduled to take place in December 2024.

OK, if Alfa Romeo is allowed to produce a super sports car with only 33 examples, why can’t Dodge get a next generation Viper using this Maserati borrowed platform using Dodge power and design? Seems Stellantis is playing favorites and Dodge needs a halo model as much as it’s Italian counterpart. Let’s say 500 examples. They got the Hornet, why not a Viper? OK guys, tell me WHY NOT ??

Who is paying $800,000 for this Viper? I get your point but people in Alfa Romeo world have this inflated image of the brand related to it's ancient racing past. This car builds AR cred and it's priced to cover the cost.

Dodge could sell them all at near this price, call it marketing costs. Not meant for average Dodge buyers.
OK, my question was hypothetical and clearly not realistic, but really, why not something for Dodge ?
How about we build our own version, from scratch. Old dreams die hard.

I do not think that the technical or intellectual knowledge in the the usa is available to produce a car of equivalent standing as the 33

Well, it’s becoming evident that buyers of sports cars are preferring and choosing ICE option over EV, if they were offered both options for the same car.
