AEV was founded in the 1997 by Dave Harriton, a former University of Montana student passionate about Jeep® Wranglers and off-road customization. What began as a small project in a dirt-floor garage in Missoula quickly evolved into an award-winning operation when Harriton’s modified Wranglers began winning Chrysler Design Excellence Awards at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show. By partnering with experts in Detroit, Harriton combined his innovative designs with OE-quality manufacturing, paving the way for AEV’s success.

Today, AEV has earned a stellar reputation for producing some of the highest-quality aftermarket parts and accessories for off-road vehicles, such as the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator, Ram Heavy Duty trucks, Chevrolet Colorado, and GMC Canyon. With a commitment to American-made products, more than 90% of AEV’s parts are produced within 200 miles of Detroit, ensuring the brand’s dedication to local manufacturing.

Visitors could walk through the company’s impressive engineering and vehicle build facility, learning about the advanced manufacturing processes that set AEV apart from other aftermarket brands. The tour showcased the company’s innovative design and testing methods, including how each product and vehicle build undergoes rigorous real-world and controlled testing to meet OE standards.

A highlight of the event was the impressive lineup of AEV-equipped vehicles, which included several iconic models that have earned the company a dedicated following in the off-road community. Among the vehicles on display were the Ram Heavy Duty Prospector and Prospector XL models, known for their capability to conquer even the toughest terrains while maintaining a smooth on-road ride. These trucks, outfitted with AEV’s suspension lifts, massive tires, bumpers, and unique badging, were the centerpiece of the event, drawing attention for their rugged yet refined design.

For Jeep® enthusiasts, AEV had a selection of Gladiator and Wrangler builds on hand, including the Jeep Wrangler / Gladiator 350 and 370 builds. These vehicles are well-regarded for their balance of performance and functionality, making them ideal for both daily driving and overland adventure. The newest addition, the Level II Wrangler Unlimited, was another showstopper featuring upgrades that enhance both off-road capability and overall drivability.

The parking lot was filled with personalized AEV builds, from Wranglers to Ram trucks, allowing enthusiasts to share their experiences and ideas with fellow off-roaders. While showcasing your own AEV vehicle wasn’t required, many owners showed off their rigs, adding to the event’s community-driven atmosphere.
