A Dodge Charger Pickup, You Can Build Yourself?
Charger UTE Kit, Adds More Functionality To Late-Model Charger Sedan...
Our friend R/T Life, happened upon one very interesting Dodge Charger last week. While pickup trucks, crossovers, and SUVs rule the automotive sales world, the four-door Dodge Charger has stood its ground. But what happens when you take one of those hot-selling pickup truck ideas and blend it with a late-model Dodge Charger sedan. You get a Charger UTE.
UTEs have been popular in Australia. General Motors (GM) even tested the waters here in North America with the idea of bringing the Pontiac G8 ST (Holden UTE) to market. That was until the GM bankruptcy of 2009 killed not only the G8 ST but the entire Pontiac brand.
But one company who has experience in making pickup kits for Volkswagens, Subarus, and Audis, has also made a kit for the 2006 to 2010 Dodge Charger. Symth Performance of Wareham, Massachusetts has created a pickup kit for the Charger that has a fully functional 6-foot bed for the rear of the car.
Take a look at the video above for more details on this unique Charger SRT8 pickup. For more behind the scenes looks of the build, you can also visit the owner’s Instagram page as well.
