Ram Canada Rolls Out Industry-Leading 10-Year/160,000 KM Powertrain Warranty

Coverage Extends Across 2026 Ram Trucks and Vans

Ram Trucks has officially raised the bar in Canada with the launch of an all-new 10-year/160,000-kilometre (100,000-mile) limited powertrain warranty. The move mirrors the brand’s U.S. program but takes it further by tailoring the offer to Canadian customers who are increasingly financing their trucks and vans over longer terms.

This bold warranty applies to 2026 model-year Ram vehicles sold in Canada, including the Ram 1500 (with the high-performance RHO included), Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty, 3500/4500/5500 Chassis Cab, and ProMaster vans. Full battery-electric models are excluded from this program, but all internal combustion and hybrid offerings are covered.

Why This Warranty Matters –

Trucks are one of the largest purchases most Canadians make, second only to a home, and with vehicle prices rising, buyers are keeping them for longer. Industry data shows that nearly 80% of new truck loans now stretch past five years. Ram’s extended warranty is a direct response to that trend, designed to give owners peace of mind for the life of their truck’s drivetrain.

Under the plan, major components, including the engine, transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, differentials, and axles, are covered for 10 years or 160,000 km (approximately 100,000 miles)—whichever comes first. This makes Ram’s warranty the best in the Canadian full-size truck and van market.

Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis explained the company’s thinking:
“Everything is more expensive, and trucks are certainly no exception. Truck buyers are financing purchases for longer periods of time, with nearly 80% of new truck loans exceeding five years. Our customers are making a long-term investment in Ram, and with Canada’s best full-size truck limited powertrain warranty, Ram is making a stronger and longer commitment to our customers.”

Who Gets Covered –

The warranty applies to retail purchasers and lessees of new, previously unregistered 2026 Ram vehicles bought through authorized Ram dealerships in Canada. It’s worth noting that the coverage is non-transferable—meaning it stays with the original buyer or lessee unless otherwise required by Canadian law. Fleet purchases, however, are excluded from this retail program.

Extra Protection for Fleets –

Business owners haven’t been left out entirely. Ram also announced a new 5-year/160,000-km (100,000-mile) powertrain warranty specifically for fleet customers. This shorter-term coverage acknowledges the harder use fleet trucks often endure while still offering owners long-lasting protection.

CanAm Coverage Expands –

Cross-border drivers also get a boost with Stellantis’ expanded CanAm Warranty. Starting with the 2026 model year, all Stellantis retail brands, including Ram, will continue to allow warranty coverage if a Canadian-purchased vehicle is exported to the U.S. after six months of use and has traveled at least 15,000 km (approximately 9,300 miles). This benefits Canadian snowbirds, relocating families, and businesses that move equipment between markets.

Ram’s Bigger Picture –

The new Canadian warranty announcement is part of Ram’s broader plan to introduce 25 new products or program updates within the next 18 months. It’s a sign that the brand is doubling down on customer confidence at a time when competition among truck makers is intensifying.

For truck buyers, the takeaway is simple: Ram is backing up its reputation for power and capability with the strongest warranty protection in Canada’s full-size truck segment. Whether you’re eyeing a 2026 Ram 1500 RHO for weekend thrills, a Ram 2500 Power Wagon for serious off-road work, or a ProMaster van for your business, you’ll know the heart of your vehicle is covered longer than the competition.

With trucks serving as long-term investments, this warranty could be the deciding factor for Canadian buyers weighing their options in 2026. Ram is betting big that its commitment to durability and customer peace of mind will pay off.
