Dodge is looking to make some noise this weekend as the 10th annual MotorTrend Presents Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge kicks off. The brand has teased that it will reveal a new “muscle” vehicle on Friday, August 8th, and for a company that’s been struggling in 2025, this moment couldn’t come soon enough.
The numbers tell the story. Through the first six months of 2025, Dodge has sold just 47,481 vehicles in the U.S.—a staggering 49% drop compared to the 92,735 units sold in the same period last year. The sharp decline stems from the discontinuation of its bread-and-butter models, the gas-powered Charger (LD) and Challenger (LA).

In 2024, those two muscle icons accounted for nearly half of the brand’s volume. Dodge moved 26,876 Chargers and 21,217 Challengers between January and June. This year, they’re basically gone, with just 1,630 Chargers and 1,501 Challengers sold from leftover stock.
The all-electric Charger Daytona (LB) was supposed to lead Dodge into the future, but the rollout has struggled. By launching the EV first and holding back the internal combustion engine (ICE) models, Dodge unintentionally pushed away some of its most loyal buyers. Enthusiasts who crave the roar of a HEMI V8 haven’t been quick to jump on the EV bandwagon, and first-half Charger Daytona sales sit at just 4,299 units—far short of replacing the lost volume from the discontinued gas models.
That’s why this Friday’s Roadkill Nights reveal is such a big deal. Dodge knows it needs to get its swagger back, and the event is the perfect stage to show fans that it hasn’t forgotten its muscle car roots. Roadkill Nights has become a staple for performance enthusiasts, featuring legal street drag racing, car displays, and live action that celebrates horsepower and American car culture.

MoparInsiders will be there to cover the reveal and share every detail about this new product. We’ll also have a live stream of the unveiling starting at 11:00 a.m. EDT / 8:00 a.m. PDT, so fans can see it unfold in real time.
For Dodge, this could mark the start of a long-awaited rebound. A bold new muscle offering might be just what the brand needs to fire up enthusiasts again and remind the market why Dodge is still a name that means performance.
