Jeep® Will Build Its Subcompact Avenger In Brazil Too!

The Brand's Smallest SUV Will Join Renegade, Compass, and Commander In Brazil

Jeep® is gearing up to expand its presence in Brazil by bringing production of its smallest SUV—the Avenger—to the country starting in 2026. This move marks a significant milestone as the Avenger becomes the fourth Jeep model produced in Brazil, joining the Renegade, Compass, and Commander. It also celebrates Jeep’s 10 years of local manufacturing, which began in 2015 with the Renegade.

To prepare for Avenger production, Stellantis will invest R$ 3 billion (or about $600 million USD) in its Porto Real Assembly Plant in the state of Rio de Janeiro between 2025 and 2028. This same facility currently builds the Citroën C3, C3 Aircross, and the new Basalt.

Known internally as “Project 516” or “JJ,” the Brazilian-spec Avenger will feature a turbocharged 1.0-liter 200 Flex I3 engine paired with a 12-volt mild hybrid system, just like the Fiat Pulse and Fastback. The hybrid tech combines a multifunctional electric motor that acts as an alternator and starter. The setup produces 130 horsepower on ethanol and 125 horsepower on gasoline, paired with a CVT (continuously variable transmission) that simulates seven gear ratios for smooth acceleration.

The Avenger’s compact dimensions—4.08 meters long (160.6 inches), 1.78 meters wide (70.1 inches), 1.53 meters tall (60.2 inches), and a 2.56-meter (100.8-inch) wheelbase—make it a perfect fit for Brazil’s growing entry-level SUV market. The trunk offers cargo space of 380 liters (13.4 cubic feet), ideal for everyday practicality.

To stand out locally, the Avenger will debut with a slightly redesigned front fascia featuring updated headlights and a refreshed grille. Once it arrives, it will compete against models like the Fiat Pulse, Renault Kardian, and VW Tera, giving Jeep a stronger foothold in one of South America’s most competitive segments.

With this strategic move, Jeep reinforces its commitment to the Brazilian market, combining localized production with a versatile, hybrid-powered SUV that blends performance, style, and efficiency.
