Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack Joins One Lap of America

Daytona Hits One Lap

Dodge is officially putting the rubber to the road—literally. For the first time ever, the 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack Stage 2 is entering a real-world motorsports competition, joining the 41st running of the Tire Rack One Lap of America. This isn’t just a showpiece or a concept; this is a full-on, track-ready electric muscle car hitting nine different racetracks over the course of a week, logging more than 3,500 miles across eight states from May 3 to May 10.

The Charger Daytona Scat Pack will compete in the Alternative Fuel class, piloted by David Carr, a seasoned Dodge vehicle dynamics engineer with One Lap experience, and co-driven by Sean Yoder of DodgeGarage.com. The car is stock, aside from a required roll cage, and it’s wrapped in a striking black-and-orange livery featuring the futuristic Fratzog logo—the symbol of Dodge’s next-gen performance.

Packing 670 horsepower, the Scat Pack Stage 2 features a rear mechanical limited-slip differential, adaptive dampers, and massive Brembo® brakes (16-inch vented rotors with 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers). It’s also outfitted with the Track Package, including specialized Drive Modes (Track, Drag, Custom), Launch Control, Race Prep settings, and Drift/Donut Mode. And yes, it includes Dodge’s Drive Experience Recorder (DxR)—so the team can review laps and fans can enjoy highlights.

This is no cakewalk. The One Lap of America throws everything at a vehicle—skid pads, autocross, drag racing, road courses, and thousands of miles of highway travel in between. That’s why Dodge is leaning into the Charger Daytona’s multi-role engineering—equal parts road trip cruiser and all-out track weapon.

Here’s a look at the 2025 One Lap of America schedule:

This graphic design needs to be an option for all of the chargers. The more I look at this car, the more I truly like this thing. It's a beautiful canvas for alot of future modifications both cosmetic and performance. I can't wait to see what Stellantis really has in store with the six pack and beyond

I have made some harsh statements about the Dodge Daytona, but every time I look at this car, those statements seem to exceed my limits of objectivity. Currently I have begun to see some real potential for the Charger in some niche of the market and accessories and graphics might hold the key to that niche bringing electric buyers to Dodge. After all, most electrics are as exciting as a door knob collection and if anything the Charger will get you noticed.
The Six Pack models will desperately need everything that Dodge and Mopar can throw at them and participation in just about every motor sport venue is an absolute must. Yes that includes heavy NHRA and NASCAR sponsorships.
I’m now predicting modest success for the Charger, more so if and when it gets a V-8, but more performance influence product in more market segments is also a must for the label “success”. I’m not thrilled with these graphics, but it’s a start.
Absolutely I’ll test drive a SixPack, whether or not one makes it to my driveway will depend on the added things that personalizes this beautiful car.
Now was that harsh on my part ?

Dodge used the “Fratzog” starting around 1962 so futuristic is not a word I would use to describe it. I have always liked it and am glad they are finally using it again. Good looking car. Hope they do well.

So what are they using to tender the Charger? A Ram proMaster with a Cummins powered generator in the back would be cool. On the other hand, they could use one of the recently refreshed HD Ram trucks painted in matching colors. That would be cool, the Ram and the generator both would have B-series Cummins power.
