2027 Ram Dakota Laramie Debuts In Brazil

Premium Trim Makes Its First Public Appearance Ahead Of 2026 Launch

Ram is stepping up its game in the South American truck market with the official reveal of the all-new Dakota Laramie at the São Paulo International Auto Show. This marks the first time the premium trim of the midsize pickup has been shown publicly, and it sets the tone for what Ram expects to be one of its biggest launches in Brazil for 2026. Alongside the show display, Ram is also hosting a special “Casa Ram Dakota” experience at Clube Esperia, giving prospective buyers a more hands-on look—complete with test drives.

For Ram, the Dakota is a major product milestone. It’s the brand’s first midsize offering since Ram split off from Dodge in 2009, and it has been engineered specifically for markets like Brazil, where demand for refined, diesel-powered midsize trucks is red hot. Ram’s South American leadership is confident the Laramie trim, in particular, will be a strong draw for customers looking for capability wrapped in luxury.

A More Upscale Take On The New Dakota –

Ram is clearly aiming to elevate the midsize truck segment with the Dakota Laramie’s styling. The front end gets a bold chrome grille with the R-A-M lettering positioned high between the sleek LED headlights. A continuous LED light bar spans the width of the grille, connecting the two headlamps for a futuristic look. The lighting isn’t just for style—it performs an animated sequence when the truck locks or unlocks, giving the Dakota Laramie a polished, premium touch that stands out day or night.

Chrome trim pieces wrapped around the exterior give the Laramie a more upscale personality, while unique 18-inch diamond-cut wheels wrapped in 265/60R18 tires add both polish and toughness. Ram is also debuting a special launch color for this trim, called Terra Sunrise, which helps the Laramie stand apart visually from the Warlock model revealed earlier.

Premium Cabin Loaded With Features –

Inside, Ram brings the same level of refinement you’d expect from its larger trucks. The Dakota Laramie features brown premium leather seating, with matching soft-touch materials across the doors and dashboard. The center console is a dual-tier setup—up top, you get cup holders and the main controls, while the lower section offers additional storage, a 12-volt outlet, and dual USB ports (including a fast-charging USB-C).

Technology is front and center. A 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™, built-in navigation, off-road pages, and a full 360-degree camera system comes standard. Ram even included “transparent vehicle” camera functionality for navigating tight trails or obstacles. A digital gauge cluster sits beside the main screen, blending everything into a modern, cohesive cockpit. The Laramie also includes dual-zone climate control with rear vents, an inductive phone charger with cooling, push-button start, and power-adjustable front seats.

Diesel Power And Real Capability –

Under the hood, the Dakota Laramie comes with a 2.2-liter Multijet II turbodiesel four-cylinder producing 200 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque (332 lb-ft). It’s paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Ram built this truck to handle a wide range of terrain, so it offers 2WD, 4WD LO, and 4WD Auto modes that automatically distribute torque between the front and rear axles depending on traction needs.

Helping off-road and work-focused buyers, the Dakota includes an electronically controlled rear-locking differential and hill-descent assist. Payload capacity comes in at 1,020 kg (2,248 lbs), while towing tops out at 3.5 metric tons (7,716 lbs). The bed holds 1,210 liters (42.7 cubic feet) of cargo and includes LED lighting, a damped tailgate, and an integrated electronic lock.

Safety Comes Standard –

Ram didn’t skimp on safety tech either. The Dakota Laramie includes a full suite of driver-assist features: adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. Six airbags, all-disc brakes, and tire-pressure monitoring round out the list.

With the São Paulo International Auto Show running from November 22–30, Ram is using the event to build excitement for its first-ever South American-developed midsize pickup. The Dakota Laramie is clearly aimed at customers who want more than just utility—they want comfort, tech, and a premium presence.

More details, including pricing and final market specs, will be announced closer to the Dakota’s full market launch in 2026. For now, the Laramie’s debut gives us the clearest picture yet of Ram’s intentions in the midsize pickup space—and they’re going all in.
