2026 Dodge Durango SRT HELLCAT Spotted Filming In Detroit

Supercharged SUV Returns with Fresh Color and Classic Attitude

It looks like Dodge is cooking up something exciting again—and it’s loud, fast, and mean. Just a couple of days after the new 550-horsepower 2026 Dodge Charger Outlaw was spotted shooting a commercial, a brand-new 2026 Dodge Durango SRT HELLCAT was also seen filming in downtown Detroit. The sighting was shared by the “Metro Detroit News” Facebook page, and it’s got Mopar fans buzzing for good reason.

We already knew the Durango SRT HELLCAT was coming back for another year, following our earlier report in June that Dodge would keep the 710-horsepower monster SUV alive into 2026. Now we’ve got visual proof—not just spy shots, but what looks like polished production footage in the works. This move reinforces Dodge’s ongoing commitment to its performance roots and the recently revived SRT (Street and Racing Technology) division

The HELLCAT-badged Durango on set wasn’t just packing the usual heat under the hood—it was also wearing what appears to be a brand-new purple paint color. Many fans are already wondering if this is the same Purple Haze (PH9) hue that’s expected to be part of the 2026 Charger’s color lineup. Dodge hasn’t confirmed it yet, but it definitely fits their playbook: bold colors, big horsepower, and unapologetic muscle.

What makes this even more exciting is that the Durango HELLCAT is currently the only SRT-branded vehicle left in the Stellantis portfolio (unless you count the Ram 1500 RHO, which may also quietly carry SRT DNA).

And let’s be real—there’s nothing subtle about a three-row SUV pumping out over 700 horsepower while wearing a candy-coated finish. Whether you’re a longtime Mopar fan or just love loud V8s and practical performance, the 2026 Durango SRT HELLCAT is keeping the muscle SUV segment alive and well.

So, what’s Dodge up to? It looks like they’re doubling down on what they do best: building bold, fast, in-your-face vehicles. And from what we’re seeing in Detroit, they’re doing it in style.

Another Mopar web site dropped news this afternoon the Durango is being extended till 2029 now, and suggested if so would this be a good update for 2027?
Any thoughts on either the news or photos? Definitely need to take care of the tail light issue if it is in fact being extended 3 more years!

That thread isn't from an insider though - just an enthusiast as far as I know. That said even here has confirmed 'at least 2028'. Current-Generation Dodge Durango Is Sticking Around?

But -- the images are copy-pasted off of a Hornet. They don't look bad in place because the Durango already has those shapes. I just don't think the square tail light suits it.

Back on-topic; I think this is probably one of those group ads, given that we just saw the Charger Sixpack in the area filming.
