The 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is a force to be reckoned with on the drag strip, and a recent video has shown just how powerful this muscle car truly is. Powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter C170 HEMI® V8, the Demon 170 puts out an astonishing 1,025 horsepower when running on E85, making it the most powerful muscle car on the road. Although the car is officially rated for a 1/4-mile time of 8.91 seconds at 151.17 mph, a stock version recently broke into the 8-second zone, clocking an impressive 8.8 seconds at an exit speed of over 151 mph.
The footage, shared by YouTuber (@WhiteDemon1754), shows the white Challenger pulling off the line with a burst of speed and even lifting the front wheels in a brief wheelie. Despite the wheelie potentially costing the car a fraction of a second, the Demon 170 still completed the run with remarkable speed and precision. According to the owner, the car was bone-stock—no tuning or modifications were made to achieve this remarkable performance.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this particular Demon 170. Earlier in December 2024, it was spotted at the Maryland International Dragway, and just weeks later, it raced an ultra-fast Nissan GT-R at the Northeast Dragway in North Carolina. But this latest run stands out as one of the most impressive, with the stock car beating Dodge’s original 1/4-mile estimate by a tenth of a second.
With 945 lb-ft of torque and 1,025 horsepower on E85, the Demon 170 is built for extreme performance. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in a blistering 1.66 seconds, putting it in the same territory as modern-day supercars, but at a fraction of the price. The Challenger SRT Demon 170 proves that American muscle can compete with the best of them, delivering supercar-level performance with a classic muscle car feel.
