2020 Jeep® Renegade Debuts In Brazil Market:
Brazilian Model Gives Us A Look At What May Be Coming For North America...
When Jeep® launched the updated 2019 Jeep Renegade in the Brazilian market last October, it only took two months for the compact Jeep to take the lead in SUV sales for the market which was owned by Jeep’s own Compass model in 2017 and 2018. The Renegade continues its hot streak this year and Jeep isn’t ready for it to cool down anytime soon. Enter the 2020 Jeep Renegade model lineup for the Brazilian market.
The Brazilian models now get the introduction of LED taillights. Last year, despite the update to the styling, the Brazilian models kept the older styled lights. Now, they will get the same units found on models European models. The new LED taillights will be on Longitude Diesel (equivalent to our Latitude model), Limited, and Trailhawk models.
All Longitude models whether its gasoline or diesel, are now standard with the LED headlights and foglights. With a luminous flux 50% more efficient than halogen lamps, this lighting system had entered the 2019 Jeep Renegade lineup as an option in the Longitude versions and standard equipment in the Limited (flex), and Trailhawk (diesel) top configurations.
The entry-level 2020 Jeep Renegade Sport has also gotten some big upgrades for the new model year. Starting with a new alarm system as standard equipment, a new Uconnect system package is now available. The Uconnect package adds the 7-inch Uconnect infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, and rear parking sensors. The package is available for R$ 4,000 (or about $1,050 USD).
Two special-edition Sport models are still available for 2020 Jeep Renegade. Those models include the popular Night Eagle package and the WSL (or World Surfing League) limited edition. The Night Eagle features black paintwork on the 17-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels, roof, over-the-door sides, and logos. Inside, the all-black theme continues to set the tone on all frames (multifunction steering wheel rims, air vents, speakers, and shift lever base). The WSL Edition adds leather seats, the same dark details as the Night Eagle, plus hood sticker, WSL badges, roof crossbars, Polar White exterior color, and Trailhawk wheels. Only 500 WSL models will be built.
On Longitude and Limited models, the customer has one additional option for the interior with a new brown color for the leather seats. The black leather interior remains standard on these models, as well as the Trailhawk model.
While we are talking about the Brazilan market model Renegade, it gives a little of an inside in some of the options that may be available here in North America for the 2020 model year.
