CompetitionPlus Talks With The Veteran Drag Racer About His New Opportunity...

Challenger Drag Paks, COPO Camaros and Cobra Jet Mustangs, the three factory drag car packages have set the drag racing world on fire over the past decade. The SAM Tech NHRA Factory Stock Showdown Series (FSXX) is continuing to grow in popularity. The series is attracting some popular names throughout the drag racing world. One of those names happens to be Mark “The Cowboy” Pawuk.

Pawuk joined Don Schumacher Racing (DSR) after an 11-year hiatus from NHRA competition. Pawuk, a veteran in NHRA’s Pro Stock class, he raced to six victories before making his final Pro Stock appearance at Richmond in 2006.

Thanks to some pushing from his son Kyle, Mark is back into racing. Having originally started racing in the 1970s in Mopar, he is one of two cars behind fielded in the series by DSR. Earlier this year, he went to the finals at the U.S. Nationals against his teammate Leah Pritchett. CompetitionPlusTV has a great video about Mark’s return to drag racing, his passionate for the sport and his love for his family and his team.
