1971 Plymouth ‘Cuda Lives Again, And It Could Be Yours
Rebodied Dodge Challenger, Heads To Mecum Kissimmee Auction...
The legacy of Plymouth’s iconic muscle cars lives on, even decades after the brand’s farewell in 2001. Thanks to the ingenuity of the aftermarket, enthusiasts can now experience a modern reinterpretation of the 1971 Plymouth ‘Cuda. Crafted by Modern Classix of Springfield, Missouri, this unique creation starts with a 2023 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack 392 Shaker Widebody as its foundation and transforms it into a stunning tribute to the ‘Cuda using handcrafted fiberglass panels.
This one-of-a-kind restomod, set to cross the Mecum Kissimmee auction block on Saturday, January 11, 2025, has just 462 miles on the odometer. Beneath its vintage-inspired exterior lies the heart and soul of a modern Dodge Challenger. It retains its “Last Call” plaque, marking it as one of the final production year Challengers, and features the powerful 6.4-liter (392 cubic-inch) HEMI® SRT V8 engine. Producing 485 horsepower, the V8 is paired with a ZF-sourced 8-speed automatic transmission for smooth and rapid shifts.
The exterior of this rebodied Challenger is a showstopper, with custom Go ManGo orange paint adorned with bold HEMI billboard graphics. Classic ‘Cuda styling cues include chrome bumpers, a body-color grille, front chin and rear deck spoilers, and LED lighting throughout. A set of 20-inch x 11-inch American Racing TTF wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero tires completes the striking look.
Inside, the car blends classic muscle car vibes with modern amenities. It features heated and ventilated front seats, dual-zone air conditioning, a heated steering wheel, and the advanced 8.4-inch Uconnect 4C infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™. Safety and convenience are enhanced with blind spot monitoring and rear cross-path detection.
As a Scat Pack Widebody underneath, this car is no slouch on the road. It boasts SRT high-performance suspension, factory Line Lock, Launch Control with Launch Assist, and powerful Brembo® brakes with 6-piston calipers up front.
This reimagined ‘Cuda showcases what Plymouth might have produced if it had survived into today’s muscle car era. A true homage to a legendary nameplate, it blends timeless design with cutting-edge technology, making it a head-turning, one-of-a-kind ride.
