This post just brought the thought of a smaller, lighter, more affordable Cuda like muscle car to Dodge. I was lifted also by a discussion on TK Garage yesterday about Dodge possibly “green lighting” both a small halo muscle car and a Viper replacement high end halo car. I, along with many others, have advocated both for a long time. It is my thinking that Dodge is a brand living and sharing the Stellantis universe and that entity has already on its shelf platforms, products and proven engineering for these family spun products for Dodge and thus able to share all these with existing spin offs for Dodge. Call it family business. There is a whole host of mid size products to build from adding just Dodge drive trains, styling and interior touches to get something hot and affordable to customers developed cheaply and within two years or less. Also sited was sharing the Maserati MC20 significantly intact, perhaps without gull wing doors, adding a Dodge tuned Hurricane mid mounted engine and distinct Dodge styling front and rear.
If it’s under consideration seriously as reported, it seems a good chance this ‘70 Cuda could have inspired two brand saving vehicles for Dodge. Adding muscle cars on both ends of the lineup would be so wise it almost too much to even contain my enthusiasm and wait two years…..but, I will for the family.
