This Charger Daytona, sold new at Holland Dodge in Greenville, Massachusetts, has just 53,335 miles on the odometer. It recently underwent an extensive 3 ½-year restoration, completed in 2022 by Smothers Supercars in Talala, Oklahoma. The attention to detail in this restoration brings the car back to its original glory with period-correct parts and finishes.

Under the hood, a period-correct 7.2-liter (440 cubic-inch) Magnum 4-BBL V8 engine producing 375 horsepower is paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. This Daytona comes with the sought-after A33 Track Pak option, adding heavy-duty components for enhanced performance. Other features include power steering, bucket seats, a center console with woodgrain applique, a Hurst shifter, and a Chrysler Solid State AM radio. It also sports hood hold-down pins, chrome driver’s mirrors, styled road wheels, and Firestone wide oval redline tires.

Built at the Lynch Road plant in Detroit, Michigan, this Daytona received its aerodynamic bodywork and special parts at the nearby Clairpointe facility. Its iconic design includes a 23-inch-tall rear wing, a unique sheet-metal nose cone, and flush rear window treatment. Stainless steel A-pillar covers and fender-mounted cooling scoops complete the look.

The 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona was developed in response to the racing struggles of the Charger 500. Built for NASCAR domination, the Daytona won its first race at the inaugural Talladega 500 in 1969. It made history on March 24, 1970, when Buddy Baker broke the 200 mph (322 km/h) barrier at Talladega. The car went on to win six NASCAR races and set numerous records on USAC and ARCA circuits.
