America has become a socialist country. The government has a heavy hand in the day to day operations of far too many businesses.

The zero emissions mandates by unelected bureaucrats in both the EPA and CARB is what lead to our current battery electric panacea and EV debacle. Mass electrification of the entire fleet of cars and trucks is insane and very reminiscent of some Soviet era government programs which doomed the USSR. Under the Soviet regime of those times, a totalitarian government dictated what was science and what isn't science. Sound familiar?

I can't see any logistical way to import finished battery packs. They have proven to be too volatile for overseas shipping as a finished product. CATL (A Chinese battery company) want to open up battery plants here in North America.

Maybe the Chinese are just trying to be nice to us since President Brandon sold them a huge chunk of our strategic petroleum reserves at a discount.

Carlos Tavares doesn't care about anything as long as it's padding his pocketbook with money. He would rather bring cheap Chinese EVs to the U.S. to compete against Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep® without even batting an eye. The sad thing is he fails to see the U.S. market and its pushback against EVs here. If I were the CEO of Stellantis, I would boast about our success with PHEVs and continue to push them forward. I would take a GME-T6 PHEV Charger four-door over an electric one any day. What Stellantis fails to do is be a trendsetter like Chrysler Corporation was. Instead, they milk everything to death, and it takes years to bring new products to market instead of beating other automakers to the punch. The PHEVs like the Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, and Pacifica were the trend-setters in their respected segments. Tavares and most of the French upper management has to go, he is the opposite of Sergio Marchionne.
